Weekly Saturday runs
Alternating between Formby National Trust and Ainsdale Beach keeps the routes varied and the ground interesting.

Formby Canicross gives energetic and high-drive dogs a controlled way to blow off steam while owners learn the sport in a friendly, supportive group.
Free weekly group runs, beginner-friendly kit advice, and bespoke coaching available if you want a more tailored plan.
What it feels like
It's a place to learn, run, ask questions, meet other owners, and give dogs a healthy outlet in a well-managed setting.
Alternating between Formby National Trust and Ainsdale Beach keeps the routes varied and the ground interesting.

Try harnesses, ask questions, and get a feel for the sport before spending money on kit.

Most Saturdays bring 6 to 8 runners, with a friendly pace and enough drive to feel like a proper outing.
The social side matters too, with coffee, homemade treats, Christmas runs. We're a welcoming group!

New to the sport?
The group is there to help people get started well. You can try harnesses, ask practical questions, and understand how canicross works before investing in the wrong kit or guessing your way through it.
We run from September to May, with a break in the summer months so dogs don't overheat.
If you or your dog want more support to get you from couch to 5k, or help training the canicross commands, we can help.
